Les Charmettes holiday park near La Palmyre, on France's west coast
One of the jewels in the Siblu crown, Les Charmettes is close to the seaside resort of La Palmyre on the sunny west coast in Charente Maritime. This hugely popular park has everything you could want for a fun family holiday. It is set within a spacious and well-landscaped environment, around a lively hub which features a huge pool complex, bar, restaurant and indoor entertainment venue. When you're not enjoying the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, there are masses of activities to take part in on site, many at no extra cost, from football and basketball tournaments to archery and boules competitions.
Les Charmettes has a great location, close to many great beaches accessible via very safe family-friendly cycle ways. There's the gentle sloping beaches at La Palmyre, perfect for the little ones, or the long sandy beaches of the Cote Sauvage, with waves perfect for body boarding and surfing. For days out, enjoy a trip to La Rochelle and Bordeaux.

Places to visit near Les Charmettes holiday park
There are five beaches within 5km of Les Charmettes, so this is a seaside favourite. Closest is sandy Grande Côte at La Palmyre, or you can follow the Sentier des Douaniers trail along the coast to discover small coves, such as Bureau and Conché, the large cove of Nauzan, which is ideal for sailing, and Platin beach for beautiful views of the Terre Nègre lighthouse.

Surfing on the Côte Sauvage
If you're fans of the waves, then there is a huge stretch of long sandy beaches that have waves perfect for surfing and body-boarding. They don't tend to as big as the waves further down south on the west coast, so are perfect for beginner and intermediate surfers.

Palmyre zoo is world famous for it's programme of breeding endangered species. It's huge place with more than 1600 mammals, birds and reptiles. Kids of all ages will love this zoo!

Royan is worth a visit to stroll around the marina, enjoy an ice-cream and perhaps a seafood dinner overlooking the seas.

Luna Park
Located just around the corner from Les Charmettes campsite in Les Mathes, is the largest amusement park in the region. Open throughout July and August, every evening from 8 p.m there's a fun range of rides and stalls.
